Kamptråd Champions league kval. runde 2: AGF - Lech Poznan, tirsdag 21. Juli kl 19.00

Hi, I'm a Lech Poznań fan and out of curiosity, I wanted to read what you, our opponents, think about us.

I'm surprised to see the poll results, in which over 60% of you believe you will win. Can you give me a rational answer: why?

- Lech is seeded, with a much higher rate than AGF.
- Lech's squad is worth more than AGF (around €57 million vs. €37 million).
- No important players left Lech after the season, and we've also spent over €8 million strengthening the squad.
- The Polish league is higher in Europe than the Danish one.
- We're playing the second leg in Poznań, where we'll give your players hell.
- We're ALL playing the first match away, including you.
- Lech has much more experience in Europe: the 22/23 season saw the LKE quarterfinals, and the 25/26 season saw the LKE round of 16.

P.S.
Is it true that you disturbed the Lech players' sleep today by setting off fireworks outside their hotel?

I think the reason that it’s at 60% in our favour is because we’re a bit delusional, when it comes to our club (I always vote on an AGF victory no matter the opponent). In regards to the last question, yes, some of our ultras did set off some fireworks.

Most of us in here are fairly realistic and regard Lech as a moderately clear favourite.

From what I see on the Lech website we have a much prettier team than yours, however. Take a look at the likes of Gift Links and Markus Solbakken, for instance, and compare them to physically unattractive players such as W. Monka (omg 🫣)or G. Thordarsson.

I think you’d much prefer your daughter to marry one of our players - given the choice.

Best of luck and gg tonight.

This is a fansite, people are generally optimistic and some probably vote for a win even if they dont truly believe it.

In regards to squad value, AGF has recently been using older players whose value is low, but who have been performing on an extraordinary level. 20 million sure is a difference though I'd say.
Also, AGFs squad has played together for a long time. They are extremely tactically disciplined, well coached and relations are on high level.

I would've still rated Poznan to be 55% favorite over the two legs, but I guess bookmakers also have AGF as a slight favorite.

Lidt om dagens modstander, set fra polsk side:

I can confirm this. Frederiksen was named the best coach of the 2025/26 season, which is normal for a national champion.

Some people want to build a statue of him in front of the stadium :-) But there's also a significant number of people who say the coach doesn't always manage the game well and sometimes can't react to what's happening on the pitch.

First of all, the poll is just for the first game and you are on a fan site. Most people in here consider Poznan as favorites to go on to the next round. But we won the Danish Championship last year by playing attacking football and we hope that we can surprise Poznan tonight.

The team might not be valued as high, but we have a lot of continuity in the team. I expect an even match-up with Poznan as small favorites.

Lech plays with a very high intensity, by Polish standards. We're bringing in players who can run a lot throughout the match. If your leaders are older, they'll lose track of the ball from the 70th minute onwards.
That would likely not be the deciding factor. We also play with high intensity and have a lot of players with high stamina.

Two of the oldest players from last season have left and the two oldest players in today’s game will be goal keeper and CB.

I think your relations and international experience will play a bigger role. We have had to change some positions in defense and attack since last season where it looks like your team is intact or strengthened.

You have also played one important game already. This will be our season opener - so a lot of questions will be answered tonight. If we can keep the quality and concentration from last season it can be two close games. Personally I think Lech will win overall.

Funny. Usually our opponents run out of energy after around 70 minutes.

Your coach who knows both teams thinks its a pretty even matchup.

Our assistant also knows your team pretty well.

We didn’t win the championship by having the most expensive players. We won it by being the best team.

I’m optimistic because we are still a good team.

I voted for AGF victory tonight.
My reason for that vote is, that I think we may be able to take a narrow win at home, but I very much doubt we'll go on through to the next round.
It's more a hope really - I am a fan after all. But I also suspect that your team may underestimate AGF just slightly, even if coach Frederiksen will do what he can to avoid that. And as we proved last season: you underestimate us at your own peril ;)
